Masseria Acquadolce is a classic Salento estate surrounded by a 7 hectare walled park with secular olive grove, located deep in the heel of Italy’s boot, 15km from both the sandy beaches of the Ionic sea as well as the rocky coast of the Adriatic. Built in the 19th century and lovingly renovated by a renowned Italian architect, it is one of Puglia’s premium properties with its luxurious garden, swimming pool and impeccable interiors. Thanks to its current layout and the possibility to extend the accommodation from 600 sqm. to 1000 sqm., the property offers potential as either a unique private residence or a luxury boutique hotel for an international clientele seeking absolute privacy.
Interiors
The entrance hall leads onto the main living area, a voluminous sunny room with vaulted ceilings and imposing fireplaces at either end that looks onto the garden and swimming pool area through large french windows. The space is divided into a living area with large sofas and armchairs and the dining area with a long table for entertaining. A door leads to a fully equipped professional kitchen with glass doors that access the outside dining area and aromatic herb garden.
There are 9 bedroom suites all with en-suite bathrooms and each decorated and furnished to extremely high specification. 3 bedroom suites are located in the main building, one with a view of the swimming pool whilst the others are accessed through the main entrance and face one of the internal courtyards. A further suite is located in the pool pavilion with the remaining suites situated in a separate wing off the main courtyard and a final suite can be found in the annex.
Private Grounds
Masseria Acquadolce is surrounded by a walled park (7 hectares) containing a secular olive grove and an scenographic tree-lined driveway that leads to the main entrance facade framed by palms. The mature garden surrounding the house is laid to lawn with numerous indigenous trees that offer large areas of shade. The 2 courtyards have palms, fruit trees and prickly pears whilst the outside dining area is under the cover of a large shady pergola covered in perfumed jasmine with view of the swimming pool within reach of the bbq. A staircase leads to a roof terrace with solarium (and bathroom) and breath taking views of the property and its surroundings.
Location
The area is populated by historic villages such as Ugento, Miggiano e Specchia and both the cities of Lueca and Gallipoli are only a 20 minute drive away. Otranto and Lecce can be reached in 35 minutes and 45 minutes respectively and the drive to the airport in Brindisi takes around an hour.
